Cullinan Diamond Mine: C-C 1 East
The entire ground handling system designed by TDS Projects.
TDS Projects designed the entire ground handling system at the CC1E project at Cullinan Diamond Mine, including two tipping arrangements, a crusher station and a conveyor belt.
The design is an optimised system compared with the previous steel bulkhead philosophy for accepting ore at the bottom of the ore pass. Structures become large when ore passes are large in diameter and length, so a bunker system with a knife-gate retaining wall arrangement was developed.

| Scope | Design of the entire ground handling system |
How the System Works
Ore moves through the system in this sequence:
Bunker and Retaining Wall
A bunker system with a knife-gate retaining wall arrangement accepts the ore from the ore pass.
Controlled Loading
An apron feeder controls the loading of ore out of the ore pass.
Tramp Iron Removal
Ore is deposited onto a hybrid crossover feeder, where tramp iron can be removed.
Crushing and Conveying
Ore passes through a jaw crusher and is discharged onto a conveyor system towards the shaft.
